WWED Day at the Clay Station in Ellicott City MD

Artists on WWED Day
On November 1st of 2004, what would have been Emily's 16th birthday the year that she died we had a party and celebrated her life at the Clay Station in Old Town Ellicott City, MD. This create your own pottery shop was Emily's favorite destination to create and relax with her friends. With the help of the Owner's we turned the evening into a fund raiser for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. There was birthday cake, refreshments and lots of warm friendship with Emily's friends that came to share with us. Pictured here is Emily's brother Spencer and two of her friends, Brandy Edwards and Cameron Schryer.

What does WWED mean? Emily thought of this this when her sister Alex was getting ready to start driving. She worried that Alex wouldn't be as causious as she should be when making choices as she moved out into the world. On Alex's 16th birthday Emily gave her an engraved key fob with the initials WWED. This means What Would Emily Do? She was a very thoughtful and causious person who avoided risks. We enjoyed this jesture and decided it was approriate to also use WWED to celebrate what would have been Emily's 16th birthday. What would Emily Do also lead us to the Clay Station, one of her favorite get-away retreats.
